I have a confession to make

Blog readers forgive me, I have not been as diligent in writing in my "journal" as I should have been. :) So let me now update you:

Since June 4th (the day before we left for Alaska) we have known that a birth mother was interested in meeting us. At that time, all we knew about her was her first name, that she was pregnant with a baby boy and that she was interested in meeting us.

Our trip to Alaska was really fun, but all we could think about was meeting her when we got back! On June 23rd we finally met with her (and her best friend) for the first time (it was so fun, all we did was laugh!).

The night of July 3rd we met with them again at a restaurant (for what we thought was to "get to know each other better"). And after we ate and laughed some more... she gave us a card.

We opened it.

When I saw that it was blue and it had a picture of a baby on the front... I immediately held my breath.

Then I read it... It says (on the front):

Someday, he'll be a big-time movie star
or a fifth-grade English teacher.
Someday he'll marry, have a few kids.
Maybe he won't.
Someday, he'll change the world as we know it.

or maybe he'll travel, send postcards from China,
Phone you from Paris.
Someday he's going to be a big, strong man able to carry you in his arms.

On the inside it says (I love this):

One day, he'll have his own hopes and dreams,
not knowing that once upon a quiet time,
you closed your eyes and made a wish to one day have him in your life.

Are you crying yet? Wait until you read what she wrote in the card:

"I know in my heart he was meant for you, Que & Brittany, he just had to come a different way. And I feel privileged to be the one sharing this journey with you!"

She had chosen us! We couldn't believe it and I kept thinking "Is this real?"

It was the best moment of our lives! We love her so much and are so excited! We are still crying, even now, 2 days later. They also gave us these adorable blue booties and this Willow Tree figurine called "Our Gift" which we LOVE! (She had the waiter bring it out.)

Thank you to everyone who has put our blog button on their blogs and fasted and prayed for us and of course thank you to our new friend who is the answer to those prayers.

(This is not the whole story; click here for more details) :)

PS: Did I mention it's a BOY?! We are so excited to have a boy!!

(UPDATE: You can also click the blog tag "Our Miracle Boy" to read all the posts that talk about him and his birth mom.)
